BAIRNSDALE PISTOL CLUB INC.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN THIS FANTASTIC SPORT?
To become a member of the Bairnsdale Pistol Club you must complete several steps. This may sound complicated, but really is quite simple. It is just a matter of filling lots of forms to ensure that you are a person of good character and helps ensure thatour sport is kept safe.
1. Arrange an interview with the Secretaryto receivethe following forms:
Bairnsdale Pistol Club application form.
HandgunLicence Application.
Fingerprint Form - All Hangun Licence holders must have their fingerprints registered with Victoria Police.
2. Supply two passport-style photographs (30mm x 35mm), which are to be frontal head and shoulders.
3. Please supply two character references. These should preferably be typed on company letterhead from people who have known you for at least two years, such as employers, solicitors, accountants, clergymen, bank managers, etc.
4. The completed forms, photos, fingerprint certificate, references and club feesshould be sent or handed to the Secretary who will then advise you to attend the next club committee meeting.
5. The committee interviews prospective members. Bairnsdale is a private club, and therefore the approval of membership is at the sole discretion of the committee.
All new members must attend and pass an obligatory safety course where safe pistol handling and range operation will be explained.
The first six months of membership is probationary, you will be required to apply for a pistol permit from the Victorian Police to enable you to participate in competitions. At the expiry of the permit you may apply for a full target pistol licence and apply for your first handgun.
